Sunday service
We consider our Sunday morning 10:00 service to be the most important meeting of our week. It is the time when we gather together as a church family to listen to God’s word and to meet with God. After the service, we always meet together outside the church hall for a time of fellowship.
The service takes place in our church hall and normally lasts for approximately 1 hour. At each service you can expect the following:
a) The Bible will be read out loud and preached. This is the heart of our time together, when we listen to God speak to us through His Word. The sermons are generally about 25 minutes long and are intended to clearly explain what the Bible reading/passage teaches us and how it should make a difference to our lives.
b) We will talk to God in prayer. We normally pray three times during the service – once to confess our sins before God, once to ask God to help us understand and listen to His Word and once for people in our congregation, in Potchefstroom and around the world.
c) We will sing together. All of our services include at least 5 different psalms and/or hymns which we sing together. Singing together reminds us of the truths that God has taught us in his Word and is a means by which we can praise God and respond to what he has done for us.
d) We share the Lord’s Supper together. On 6 occasions over the course of the year, we share the Lord’s Supper together to remember that Jesus Christ died for us so that we can be forgiven and made part of God’s family. This is only open to members of our church or to people who are members of churches which also hold to our confessions of faith.

Bible study
During the week we also meet together in smaller groups to study the Bible.
Bible study groups are a great way of finding out what the Bible teaches us about God. It is also a chance to get to know new people and make friends in the congregation. Generally, we will first share and chat informally as everyone arrives, then we will read together from the Bible and think about what it teaches us. Afterwards, we will also spend some time together praying about what we have learned.

Prayer groups
Prayer is vitally important to the life and health of any Christian believer. Indeed, it has often been mentioned that one’s private prayer life is one of the surest tests of spiritual integrity. As a church family, we want to meet together regularly to pray:
a) as a response to the work of the Holy Spirit in us,
b) to ask God to strengthen us by his Spirit so that we can do what the Bible teaches,
c) to ask God to help us grasp how much he loves us and,
d) because we recognise that prayer is a means by which God seeks to care and provide for us.
We pray together as a church family during our Sunday services, with special attention given to prayer on each Sunday service preceding a Lord’s Supper celebration
